.22LR $.08
« on: December 04, 2014, 06:24:58 PM »
I don't shoot .22LR, but I see it has been widely available for a while.  First $.10 per round, and now $.08.  Didn't prices used to be more like $.03 per round, though?  Or am I just mistaken?

The last cheap stuff I bought was about ten years ago at Dunham's, paid $1.69/50 on sale from 1.89.
About the same time I paid something like $23 for a brick of Remington subsonic.

Cabelas had Winchester 333 packs and Remington Thunderbolt 500 packs for about $.05 per round yesterday with free shipping.

Last I bought from Dunhams, IRC it was $15.99 for a full brick, and I had a 10% off coupon.

When you all say "brick," do you mean 500 rounds?

I bought a couple of bricks of Hornady V-Max 17 HMR today:

And yes ..... I figure that 500 rounds = brick.     :D

I bought another 1,000 rds. of 5.7 today.  My wife has been shooting more 5.7 than me.  I need a few more cases of .45 ACP and .40 S&W, though.

Ammo prices are pretty good but I expect them to keep dropping and that we will see more sales and special deals.

I agree, that's why I'm holding off on some ammo purchases.  I don't think ammo prices will rise until the next election.  If the Democrats perform strong, it could prompt another buying panic and cause prices to rise, but we've got almost two years in the meantime.

Just read that the 'black gun' market is saturated.
I noticed several in the gun case at a Big Rapids store earlier this week.

If you are on the email lists of the firearms retailers, you have no doubts been bombarded with sales ads this holiday season.  Uppers?  Lowers?  Complete guns?  Receivers?  5.56 and 7.62 ammo?  Prices haven't been this low for several years.

But all the "pro gun" people said a democrat vote will help.
Pre obama prices for remington golden bullets were 9.95 per 525 pack, now if you get lucky you might find the same package for 25.
