Michigan Open Carry's vice president says Ann Arbor Public Schools' plan to ban guns from campus is "lawless."

"It is clear that AAPS knows what state law is, but doesn't care," said Tom Lambert in response to March 18 statement from Ann Arbor school officials.

"They don't care because their taxpayer funded insurance will bail the district out if they are wrong, and ultimately, it is highly unlikely the public officials will ever be held individually responsible," he said.

Lambert said it's easy for criminals to ignore words on paper.

"See, while Swift stands on the mantra of 'safety', she and the rest of AAPS continue to express a fanatical desire to, unwittingly or not, follow in the footsteps of the examples they cite," he said. "Hiding behind signs and policies made no difference for Columbine or Newtown and many others, so why should we think AAPS will be any different? Corralling children into a zone with a sign on it that says no resistance to harm will be offered, is not promoting safety."

They've been putting out mostly one-sided articles the other way. It's nice to see one come our way.

Hey Lambert, are you talking about "school shooters" or "school officials"?
