Durand Schools Open Carry Policy
« on: March 25, 2015, 07:01:03 PM »
Durand Schools is trying the same thing as Clio. It's in the Owosso Independent on pg 3 March 15th They are going to escort open carriers to "Secured designated area to await arrival of a police officer, who will check all vistting carriers' CPLs. The carrier,if found to be in compliance with the law, will be allowed access to the school, but will be accompanied by a police officer or a member of district's administrative team at all times. While the district will abide by the state's open carry laws in allowing entrance to their building , any carrier who causes a disruption will be escorted off the premises."  I don't know who is going to try and hold you?  Also they have a track around the football field tht's open to the public for walking, could they try and stop you while you are walking and carrying, You aren't in the school buildings? I think they need a letter from Michigan Open Carry to explain the Law again!
