Can't find much of it on the official web site, but it looks like a lot of existing code would be repealed by 4772:

http://legislature.mi.gov/doc.aspx?2015-HB-4772

Weapons; firearms; certain provisions regarding weapons; repeal. Amends sec. 237a of 1931 PA 328 (MCL 750.237a) & repeals secs. 223, 227, 227a, 227c, 227d, 228, 231, 231a, 232a & 234d of 1931 PA 328 (MCL 750.223 et seq.).

We look forward to working with Cindy in seeing these bills pass without substantial changes.

Looks like these bills aren't going to be moving at all.

What do you mean?
They're moving as fast as the Governor and legislative leaders, all from the "pro gun party" want them to move.

Gamrat (primary sponsor) and Courser (co-sponsor) have found themselves in the middle of a scandal and may be departing the legislature.

...which is very sad as it may taint this issue for a few sessions -- all because some dude had to dip his wick then tried to enlist his office staff to help in a cover up -- when they refused they fired them.

So what?
If it's a good bill it shouldn't matter if the original sponsors get kicked out or even if they went to prison.
Support it.

If legislators supported good legislation and opposed bad legislation, they wouldn't be called politicians.

It is interesting how the left attacks and demands heads for petty crap (though the possible use of state resources is improper). Yet they demand everyone else not demand the same of their members? I am not saying that IF an affair happened that it is good thing; I am saying that it is a private item and only IF there proves to be misuse of resources is there any right of the state to be involved in any of it. The fact that it was not yet in review and was some how been released to the public means that there are members of the government who consider it completely normal to hand over information that will damage those they oppose even if in doing so they are spreading what amounts to hearsay and interfering with an investigation by polluting evidence.

That kind of crap needs to not only be thrown out of government; but IMHO given the option of a ticket or a rope.

He who basically admits to using government staffers in the world's dumbest attempt at a cover-up has forfeited his right to hold a position of public responsibility (but it's not like he's the only one on the planet who has forfeited that).

She who did no official misconduct can stay in office unless her voters don't like pious talking sluts.

I had a chuckle at pious talking sluts. But I agree with the sentiment. Courser needs to go -- Gamrat (Who at this point seems to be not involved with using publicly funded resources to cover up the affair) should stay.
