"Advocates say they won't go to court over the issue."Is there a reason why not? Financing?
http://www.wxyz.com/dpp/news/region/oakland_county/gun-advocates-plan-protest-over-right-to-carry-firearms-at-arts,-beats-&-eats-festivalProtestors argue that they should be allowed to carry guns on public streets. The group has already attended previous meetings at City Hall where some of the advocates wore military fatigues and carried their weapons.
They can't do that being it is public streets right? The same with fairgrounds no?
Someone "injured" (read: anyone with a gun who would reasonably plan to attend) would need to file suite to in a court of equity (Circuit Court) to get an injunction.
Gun advocates, many of them from a group called Michigan Open Carry, have trumpeted their right to openly carry firearms at the four-day festival over Labor Day weekend.
