Protestors argue that they should be allowed to carry guns on public streets. The group has already attended previous meetings at City Hall where some of the advocates wore military fatigues and  carried their weapons.

Is there a reason why not? Financing?

The gentleman in question was wearing his official Battle Dress Uniform complete with all rank and insignia.

I like how they emphasize military fatigue's and that it was some members.... I wonder how they would have stated it, if he were in dress blues or greens?

It doesn't seem as if they should be able to lease away a property right they don't possess.  Ultimately, as with everything, that is a topic that would need to be decided in court.  Someone "injured" (read: anyone with a gun who would reasonably plan to attend) would need to file suite to in a court of equity (Circuit Court) to get an injunction.

Word is getting out, I was at work today (second day at a new job) and one of the guys starts telling another go-worker about it being legal to open carry in MI and he did not know it was legal, he then goes on to tell about there being debate if it should be legal at this event and he saw your interview with the news. Overall positive experience, I gave him the web address and told him he would find alot more info on the site.

I heard on the news this morning that the RO city counsel was going to vote today concerning if they were going to change the ordinace making carrying of a gun during the festival OK or not.

The meeting starts at 19:30 so, who is all going? I know I will be.This is where it's being held... Commission Room: 211 S Williams St, on the 3rd floor, room 315. As said, they do have the AB&E 2nd amendment issue on the official agenda.
