Lansing State Journal:
State Rep. Klint Kesto, chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, said Tuesday he'd met with the advocates who on Monday publicly urged him to advance bills that would prohibit guns in schools, libraries and other public places and expand background checks in Michigan. But the Commerce Township Republican pointed out that the suspect in last week's shooting at Umpqua Community College owned more than a dozen guns that were legally purchased by himself and family members, and said that public massacres happen in schools and other places already deemed gun-free zones.

"I don’t see any empirical evidence that those bills would stop gun violence, and that’s what I’m looking for," Kesto, a former Wayne County prosecutor, said. "We don’t want to see any violence, but we need real empirical evidence that something works.”

...

Early in the year, Snyder did veto legislation that would have allowed individuals with restraining orders against them to obtain firearms. After that language was stripped, he signed the bill eliminating local concealed pistol boards and transferring licensing responsibilities to the Michigan State Police and county clerks.

To Second Amendment advocates, Brundage said: “You fear we’ll take your guns. We fear you’ll take our children.”

But you ARE trying to take our guns, you fraudulent b***h. We're not trying to take your children. See how the two are totally not comparable?

Brundage has made enough public comments in the past year that we know she doesn't think rationally.

copied from couple above--

Who in the heck is Brundage?? When was the last time, or FIRST time, a licensed carrier 'took' a child... Many times someone could have stopped a shooting. Just remember the poor guy that took 7 (SEVEN) bullets for someone children... Don't you think hed loved to have had a gun..or perhaps a few of those canned foods some schools had in classrooms for such situations.
