I had to do some research to find this one out.  The 'stars' are intended to signify one of two categories of status.

  • The "membergroup" a member is assigned to.
  • The "number of posts" a member has made.

However, it appears they have not been adjusted since the forum was activated back in April.  Currently, they primarily indicate membership roles, as they relate to Michigan Open Carry, Inc. membership:

  • Administrator - five, large red stars
  • MOC Board Members - five, normal yellow stars
  • MOC Leadership - one, normal yellow star
  • MOC Moderator - five, normal yellow stars
  • MOC Member - three, normal yellow stars
This area needs some updates as some of our roles and members have changed.

Only one category was established for the number of posts, 'Newbie', with one, normal yellow star.  Obviously, this area still needs some work to make it useful.  I will add this to my "To-do" list.

Thanks for asking.  I, too, have been curious about this. ???

I think updates are needed? But honesty, I don't care if stars, moons, clovers or whatever are by my name as long as you leave my Lucky Charms alone!  ;D

I tried to follow the same theme already established for the stars and made some changes already.

  • The "membergroup" a member is assigned to.
  • The "number of posts" a member has made.

MOC, Inc. Forum Members membership status:

  • Administrator - five, large red stars
  • MOC Board Members - five, large blue stars
  • MOC Leadership - four, large blue stars
  • MOC Regional Coordinator - three, large blue stars
  • MOC Regional Coordinator, Deputy - two, large blue stars
  • MOC Member - one, large blue star
  • MOC Moderator - three, large green stars, except when they post on a board that they are a moderator for, then it is five, large green stars

The "number of posts" star ranking system will only apply to forum members without MOC membership status on the forum.

Non-MOC Forum Members Posts Rankings

  • Newbie (aka Guest) - no stars
  • Registered - no stars
  • New Member - one small yellow star after their first post
  • Regular Member - two small yellow stars after 25 posts
  • Senior Member - three small yellow stars after 100 posts
  • Veteran Member - four small yellow stars after 250 posts
  • Honored Member - five small yellow stars after 500 posts

Unfortunately, the software will only display one set of stars.  So, MOC members will have their stars and their number of posts status will be shown in text only.
