saw this on houston news website. i was LEO there and have family and friends there. i love houston. i'm all for this initiative by the way. why not let them protect themselves too? why make them a target? they can serve their country in the armed forces and vote but can't carry handgun or drink alcohol.

My point made before. I can die for this country I can vote to change this country into a socialist state (not that I would but just for example) yet I can't legally buy a handgun from an FFL or get a CPL, but can carry openly and get a handgun and long guns? something just seems off about that.

From what I was reading the NRA has chosen this fight here and is giving him financial aid. My only thoughts are they wanted to start in a state that is more loose gun laws and is more (for lack of a better words) pro gun. Maybe soon we can take this to Michigan courts.

last i checked texas is still not an open carry state but has looser deadly force laws and they do have castle doctrine. it is the #1 death penalty state too. texas even dragged their feet on giving reciprocity to michigan CPL holders because they disagreed with our selection process. they eventually did grant it. i forget what the problem was
