Post by: pinecone on July 11, 2018, 01:38:12 PM
i have a concealed pistol license and im wondering if i could legally transport my rifles in my back seat instead of the trunk when i am on the way to the range? or do i still have to put it on my trunk, in a case unloaded?

750.227d:
Quote
(1) Except as otherwise permitted by law, a person shall not transport or possess in or upon a motor vehicle or any self-propelled vehicle designed for land travel either of the following:
(a) A firearm, other than a pistol, unless the firearm is unloaded and is 1 or more of the following:
(i) Taken down.
(ii) Enclosed in a case.
(iii) Carried in the trunk of the vehicle.
(iv) Inaccessible from the interior of the vehicle.

Your back seat is fine, as long as they are unloaded and are also taken down or enclosed in a case. This is the case regardless of whether you have a CPL
