Title: Gun Friendly Churches

After 4 months of telling me that they would consider the OC/CC topic, I find out that they really do not understand reality (the discussion was very illogical on their end) and that they were never interested in being responsible. They do not even have sufficient working smoke detectors or extinguishers. At least they are consistent in their anti-precautionary views.. ;-)

What I don't like is being "misled" to put it politely?

Why not have a place where people can list Gun Friendly Churches they attend in Michigan?

Likewise Grand Rapids area! Last church I attended, the worship leader packed a Glock 27 (CC) while leading worship. Unfortunately, I had to fire the pastors and disband it, as it was veering into significant error. I sold the Glock, too....

Your legal alternative is to OC...no permission needed.  Same pitfalls as other private property though and you will probably be asked to leave / remove your weapon as a practical matter.  Most churches I know, and the one I attend are pretty tight with who they allow to carry.  Don't expect to walk in one week and be invited to CC two weeks later.  Most churches will want to get to know you quite well before they convey that permission, which I cannot condemn as unwise.  I have been at my church about 24 years save four years of college and one year working out of the area. I was actually asked to CC several years ago because of my previous law enforcement / private security experience doing VIP escorts and plain clothes assignments.  I consider it an honor, privilege, and great responsibility to always be alert and available, but I honestly hope the call to action never comes.

Agreed, but I'd hate to invest significant resources to find out their human rights stance later.

Because the bad guy that is hell-bent on shooting the place is going to ask permission first or will even have a concealed pistol license?

No, its the over eager mall ninjas you have to watch for. I'll admit, I get a little nervous around strangers with guns....I have no idea how disciplined they are.
