Remember that when a LEO wants to chat...
"Officer here's my fishing license, even though I'm not fishing and I don't have any baited hooks or tackle in my car."
That way your encounter will go smoother because the LEO knows there's nothing fishy going on.

only LEOS i usually run into are DNR, they just want to see license and make sure fish are legal size. never had an issue while carrying.
-
But do you have to show your fishing licence if you are a passenger in a vehicle and your pole is inside too? What about if you just have bait?
-
typically anyone in the boat with gear they ask to see. we all get our licenses so we are covered. we usually just hand em to the dnr officer and he checks quick. takes a look at the fish. measures some if they appear to be small. then we go on our way. we make sure all our fish are legal to keep. any questions in length being too short? throw it back in water. we dont risk taking illegal fish. not when you are in a nice tracker that they would love to auction off for funds since they will sieze for poaching lol, as well as all of your gear

I never got into fishing myself, When I was young my sisters boyfriend tried teaching me but he was always super drunk and stoned and wasn't much of a teacher. It ended up just me being bored all the time never catching anything. It was fine for them because they were all drunk and stoned lol.

I never catch anything either :-) if i can find a pic of this bass i got last season.... ill post it up

Nice, but what is that thing holding the fish? ;D
The few times I have been fishing I haven't caught anything. I almost caught a fish once on a charter boat but my cousins line got tangled up with mine and it fell off as I was trying to reel it into the boat. Oh well.

I'll have to find the photo of the ONE picture worthy fish I caught :)
I gave away my fishing gear :)
