Title: 4 lb striker and Eastern European ammo don't mix
Post by: TheQ on March 02, 2014, 12:29:00 PM
I was at the range today shooting in a competition after I placed a 4 pound striker spring into my Glock 17. I was using "brown bear" ammunition.

The course of fire ran 50 rounds. I documented at least 10 failures to fire. :(

I am not sure if I should blame the cheap Eastern European ammunition or the new 4 pound striker. In reality, it's probably a combination of both. I need to try to run some good, domestic ammunition and see if it makes a difference.

What have I told you about products from former Soviet Bloc countries?

I have the 3.5 striker in all of my Glcoks. Never have had an issue but the cheapest stuff I put through them is blazer.

Blazer isn't manufactured by some former Soviet Union country.
