Title: Durham County, NC Trying to Repeal Racist Gun Registry

Enacted in 1935, the registry was a way for the sheriff to capriciously keep blacks from owning guns.   There’s a bill working its way through the North Carolina Senate to repeal Durham County’s Jim Crow-era firearms registry.
