Title: Open carry with CPL on a boat while fishing
Post by: dlgeorge on June 13, 2013, 11:19:01 AM
Ok, I did some searches on these forums and didn't find anything very definitive on this question.

With my valid CPL in my pocket, can I open (or concealed) carry on the boat while fishing?   I'll be fishing in a inland lake, not one of the great lakes, so Canadian waters is not an issue.  If I read the laws correctly, I believe I can.

Also, if the boat is approached by the coast guard, DNR, or other "authority", must I inform in the typical fashion just like you would if stopped in a car?

You're input is appreciated.

Carrying on a lake would just be like carrying in your car. If you are stopped by a law enforcement officer, you must disclose.
