Was only in the store for a few minutes to pick up a safe.  No issues.

Handed out 2 MOC tri-folds tonight at Krogers, to 2 different CPL holders that had questions about the 'open carry law'.  Maybe I should renew my MOC membership....

While carrying on Sat i was approached and asked if what I was carrying was co2 powered.  Springfield XD40 owb in Serpa. When I informed him it was not he asked what it was, when I stated .40 at that time he asked me if it was a new cal.

open carried into the 'hood (Pierson Rd./I-75) for a rear brake job. Some of the customers noticed but said nothing. I was asked into the bay area to look at the needed repair. People don't verbalize what they are thinking.

I had a few conversations over the last week about open carry and each time I really wished that I had some of those fancy looking tri-folds.  How do I get some of the nice looking ones?  I'm sure I could donate some money to cover costs.

You'll get some in the mail with your membership package.

I'm also concerned about that as I don't know if I put my current address or my new address on the membership app.  I would hate for me to not be able to get it for a while.  Who do I contact about my current address being up to date?

You can download the .pdf file... then print page 1..   put the just printed papers back in the printer and print page 2 on the back...    they are easy to make for yourself...

They used to be here:   http://forums.michiganopencarry.org/index.php/topic,642.0.html    at the bottom of the first post, but appears the link is busted....

Open carried into Tim Horton's with my wife. Good coffee and peanut butter cookies! Next, I'm getting my Sportster and Beretta ready for the Westland picnic, hosted by Fatman, tonight.  As the saying goes, be there or be square...

Finally did it.  Tuesday morning we took a walk through downtown Grand Haven.  Had the 1911 OWB with my shirt tucked in and a nice pair of shorts like Bronson wears.  : )

No funny looks, no stares, no comments, no problems.  I guess an fat old grandpa with his wife and 2 white princess dogs don't look very scary even if the 1911 is cocked & locked.

I do have nice shorts  :P  Glad it went well.  Even though all went as it should I would still recommend getting a voice recorder and have it running if you plan on more OC non-adventures.

Now wait until you go to the store and buy ammo with a fully visible pistol...it feels just like freedom  ;D

Had a good ride on the Harley, open carrying through heavy traffic. Passed a MSP cruiser watching traffic in Novi...nothing happened. Arrived at the park in Westland, and met our host Frank (Fatman) cooking some tasty hot dogs! Also, had a good chat with Onnie, and Glock9mmOldstyle. A good time was had by all!

Oc'd at McDonalds in Macomb Township and at the Secretary of State as I LOST my license while going to get printed for my CPL.  >:( I am sooo glad I had another form of ID. They balked for a few minutes then allowed me to use it.

Bagger at Kroger tonight asked if I was a LEO, I said no, just a 'guy with a gun'.  In hindsight, 'legally armed citizen' may have been smarter to say, but the worker got the joke.

I do have voice recorder capability on my "smart" phone ... It is so smart that I have a hard time using it.  : (  But I will practice turning it on.  I just got an iPhone and ear buds with a mic ... that should cover it when I figure it out.

My wife for some strange reason prefers for me to OC.  I'm not sure why but since she is my wife I'm sure there is some nefarious reason behind it!   :o

Did the OC thing at lunch today at Fat Boys on Plainfield Ave in Grand Rapids.  I partly wanted to OC today because of the shootings and Fat Boys is just north of one of the shooting houses from last night.  The owner noticed my gun and asked if I was LEO.  I said no .... he didn't have a problem with my OC .... he just wanted to offer me the LE discount!   :D

OC'ed all weekend while in MI (From FL)

OC'ed at Lowes  /  Home depot in Commerce Township... no problems there...

OC'ed on Mackinac Island... had one or two looks, but nothing much...

OC'ed at Leo's Coney Island, Meijers  Commerce Township, no issues.  Then I went into Walmart to buy some 12ga and 308ammo for a quick visit to a range.    Got the ammo no problem, but while  I was at the checkout in the sports area the guy (Joe) made a comment about my sidearm asking if I was in there a week ago and they gave me a problem.  I stated that I was not, however it was perfectly legal.  Conversation went back and forth, with him telling me he was a retired cop, and that city law was higher then state law.    Thankfully when I OC, I print out a copy of the MSP Update and the preemption law.      I nicely corrected him, and explained some of our gun laws briefly.       Went on my way to the Pontiac state park gun range, and they did not have a problem with OC, just informed me I was not allowed to shoot my pistol  as it was not cased (which was fine with me because it had JHP rounds that are to expensive to shoot everyday)

I'm figuring that you were open carrying on the boat ride over to the island?

I did...    Took Arnold Transit.    they did not say anything... talked with the captain of the boat for 20 minutes about the tigers,  he must of seen it at least once.
