Not sure where the original img came from.  Anyone know if it has changed?

In VA you must inform you have a permit if the officer knows you are carrying and asks if you have a permit.

If it is a real map it isn't very old because WI just started allowing people to carry not too long ago. This time last year it would have been the same color as IL.

If you get bored go to handgunlaw.us and click on each state of their map, it will bring up a .pdf of that states info, in the top right corner it will say whether or not you must inform. I would say it is probably close but can not say for sure, I know the must snitch on yourself states are minimal.

I would like to see a similar map that tells if long gun carry in a vehicle is permitted by state.

That's kind of a convoluted statement, but I can understand that.  However, you aren't required to snitch on yourself on first contact.  And if I'm carrying legally I'm obviously not going to lie to a LEO.

Anyway, according to http://handgunlaw.us/states/virginia.pdf

Should change NJ to grey, officially listed as a may-issue state, but you need to go before a Superior Court judge to make your case for the permit. My LEO friends there, do not even know what the CC permit looks like.

This is not a "shall-issue" map.

Understood, but there is no reprocity in NJ. If you carry there and inform, its two felonies; unlawful poss. of a weapon & poss. of a weapon for unlawful purposes. There will be more depending on hollow points and magazine capacity.
