Greater Grand Rapids OC Experiences

OCed while running errands this morning.

Got my Haircut at Sportclips in Standale.  The little girl did a doubletake at my Glock but never said anything and proceed to go about giving me my haircut.

Stopped to get my boat insurance changed at Kevin Curtis State Farm in Standale.  Sat in their office of 4 people, nobody said anything.

Stopped and bought gas and then went in for lotto tickets and Diet Coke at the Next Door Store in Standale at the corner of Lake Michigan/Wilson.  Nobody said anything.  They sell beer so don't OC there without a CPL

I OC and CC depending on the situation and how I feel at the moment and see the advantages and disadvantages of both vs. the other.   Funny part is that having gotten my CPL is actually making me OC more than ever because I don't have to unload-case / uncase-load every time I get in/out of the car.

And I can keep my gun on when I go into places that sell alcohol.

So I am loving OC even more now that I have my CPL! I even am buying a new-to-me bigger stainless pistol to make it more noticeable than my Glock 27 gun which will be reserved for CC now.

Did a CC/OC at Rose's Restaurant in East Grand Rapids.  Rose's is a fairly upscale restaurant that still manages a causal feel.  In the heart of the most upscale community in Grand Rapids.

Had my Glock in a OWB holster but when I went in it was breezy and I had a jacket on which mostly covered my weapon.

When we were seated I took off the jacket and sat down for dinner.   Saw a few people looking at the Glock it but nobody said anything.   The waitress saw it but never skipped a beat taking care of us.

I am convinced that most people just assume that I am a cop of some kind even though I haven't been asked that yet in the last month of heavy OC'ing.

OC'd my Metro Arms full size 1911 to Mejers at Knapp Corners Friday night to buy some ice cream!   :)   The hard chrome finish and the fake Spartan Green  mother of pearl grips make it a real eye catcher on my white shirt!  My daughter-in-law noticed a couple of kids pointing and talking to there mom but I didn't see any adults give a second glance.

OC'd my Metro Arms commander size 1911 to Walgreens this afternoon for a Mother's Day card.  It is hard chrome but I have fake black mother of pearl grips so it isn't so "flashy".    ;)   No comments or second looks from anyone.  I think I am going to OC every time I go in a Walgreens .......    I would have taken the full size 1911 but it is dirty from shooting IDPA at South Kent this morning.  The gun was flawless..... unfortunately, I was not.   :(   But it was still tons 'O fun.  Lots of good stages today!    :)
