Marine Sues Over Wyoming Traffic Stop
« on: September 27, 2012, 09:55:45 PM »
Marine Captain pulled over for open carrying on his motorcycle.   LEO lies and states he must inform if carrying.  The law states otherwise (no inform).  He is handcuffed while police dither about for something to accuse him of.   He is kept there for 45 minutes.  He is then offered to be let go if police officer could draw his pistol, point it at Marine, and shoot if he made any sudden moves as he drove away.

Oh, yeah, there is audio.  He doesn't take any crap from the LEO.

The equally stupid state is about to get its bell rung.

Good find. The captain responded really well to the first officer.  Too bad the second officer's offer wasn't recorded.

If there is ever any doubt you should have an audio recorder running while you are carrying, this is it.  OC or CC, wear an audio recorder.

The more recordings that are presented in court or to the respective LEO agencies, the more they will realize just how lawless and unprofessional some of their officers are.

Maybe.  Slightly.  But overall, I disagree.

Okay, yes, he should have shut up.  Maybe.  But overall I thought he confronted the LEO with aplomb.  It's not like Stainless.

He looked the LEOs in the eye and told them to follow the law.

Aargh!  I'll have to listen to this again.

"Wash, Rinse, Repeat"

No one follows that advice. NO ONE. I'd love to hear some audio of someone who does. I bet you wouldn't either if you were stopped. In the moment it's just to damn fun pointing out how little the officer knows about the law. It's human nature to want to be right...and to make sure the person who is wrong knows it.

I disagree.. I have seen several vids where the people use it... and actually SHUT THE FARK UP....     I have no idea what I would do... but hopefully I would put wash, rinse, repeat into play...

 :o

I honestly cannot believe the office even made the recommendation/request that one draw his weapon and fire for sudden movement.

I am honestly baffled.

Wow, this convinced me to go on NewEgg and order a voice recorder RIGHT NOW!  If it were me, I would have been lawyered up and filing some charges of my own, but that's just me...I like attornies  ;D
