NYT Gun law "statistics"

The article is a summation of all (or most) of the laws that have been enacted since the Newtown shooting.

The reason I quote "statistics" is because I've already found invalid or wrongful material in this article.

For example, Michigan:

Lifts ban on short-barreled shotguns and rifles.

They report

"Loosen gun restrictions"

  Fine, this is accurate.  But...

Prohibits convicted felons from possessing ammunition.

  They report

"Loosen gun restrictions"

I think not.  Not saying in any way that i disagree with the law, but their interpretation of "making it illegal for a felon to possess ammo" being "less stringent".

Also:

Recognizes concealed-carry handgun licenses issued in other states

  I'm sure that Ohio has been a reciprocity state for quite some time...  How is this accurate information?

This one gets me:

Missouri; Requires background checks for concealed-carry permit applicants.

  They report

"Loosens gun restrictions"

...............

Am I crazy? or are these "statistics" biased?  Which i guess would be no surprise something from NYT.

In all seriousness, every news outlet is slanted.  Some more than others.  But what is more sad is that people believe what these outlets say and don't think twice about it.
