Open Carry Question -- Unloaded?

I know when you OC, the pistol has to be unloaded. My question is may I lawfully carry the pistol (without a magazine) on one hip, and one or more loaded magazines on the other hip?

This is the
Michigan
Open Carry forum. NOT California.
As far as I know California is the only state that requires OCers to have their firearms unloaded.
