A couple of comments.

Reviewer states 1,600 fps.  First of all, he was using FN SS195LF (lead free).  Not a very popular round, no one uses that unless you have to have lead free ammo.  The most common FN round is the FN SS197SR which is 40 gr. (heavier) and 1,750 fps (faster).

However, I carry Elite Ammunition, and the SD round I use goes 2,600 fps out of the Five-seveN pistol.  And it is still soft-shooting.  Out of a P90 it goes 3,100 fps.  I am a fan of high (rifle) speed ammo.  The damage it does has to be seen to be appreciated.

Effective range. He says 50 yards, but I think that is short.  It is 150 meters – 200 meters (or more with EA) out of a P90 depending on ammo, so the Five-seveN would be less.   Now you may not want to shoot that far out, but the specs call for that.  The 5.7 is a pretty flat-shooting round for a pistol.

Being that it travels so quickly, I assume he's telling the truth about how loud it is?

I haven't noticed it being any different than any of my other pistols.  In fact, I've shot it a couple of times without ear protection and thought it was quieter than a .40 S&W.  But then again I am older now than I was the last time I shot a .40 without ear protection.

I would like to fire one of them some day.  Honestly I would shoot anything but I would especially like to shoot a .44 mag and a Five seveN.  As far as pistols.  Oh a LAR grizzly would be awesome too get my hands on too.

.44 mag is no fun (IMO).

You can shoot my Five-seveN any time.  Where do you live?

ooooohhhh  I've always wanted a five seven...  MOC range day?
I could write something cliché and insightful, but that would be too cliché and insightful.

I shoot first... its better to give than to receive

I've got a couple of Five-seveNs.  I belong to the Capitol City Rifle Club, but I am only allowed to bring two non-members at a time.  Of course, during the week no one is there...and that's the only time I shoot.

I am a member there, too, so we could make it four.
