GREENVILLE, Mich. (WOOD) — Police are investigating after a nude man was shot and killed during an altercation with a homeowner Saturday morning.

And they had a fresh mug shot of the 'victim', only a week old. How convenient.
Somehow I think the overall IQ rating of the human gene pool just went up a bit.

Wrongful death suit against bar/bartender in 3, 2, 1...
Of course, if the 'friends' were really worried about him, they wouldn't have sent him out of the bar alone.


Ormsbe said he, Russell and about four other people headed to the bar around 10:30 p.m. Friday. They sent Russell back to their place around 1 a.m. Saturday.

“They were asked quite a few times to stop serving him, but they kept serving him because he was paying money,” Ormsbe said.

24 Hour News 8 spoke to the bartender who said she does remember Russell and being asked to stop serving him but she didn’t see him after that.

Methinks the homeowner a bit trigger happy. No need to kill the guy, just stand by & let the police handle it. There was no immediate danger from a sleeping drunk.

Bear, are you suggesting just leave the guy asleep and sic the cops on him rather than wake/confront him yourself?
The homeowner probably assumed he could just order the guy out of the house and be done with it right then.
I've never been one to invite armed strangers into my home, don't know how the homeowner feels about that.

I would like to know who initiated violence here, did Russell attack the homeowner or did the homeowner try to bodily throw him out?:
The homeowner found Russell sleeping on his couch, then grabbed a gun and asked Russell to leave.
Police said Russell refused and the men got into an altercation. That’s when the gun went off, killing Russell.

Interestingly passive description of the shooting. "The gun went off" is usually the way NDs by LEOs are described in the press.
