Don't know... but I have OCed in the Benton Harbor Applebee's 5 or 6 times with no ill affect.

Don't know about corperate policy. I have OC'ed several times at apple bee's and Chili's Never had an issue.

If you OC at a business that has a liquor license you must have a CPL or permission from the owner/management, I would recommend the permission be in written form.

I think if it's 50 or 75% of their income comes from alcohol, you cannot carry in said location, period, OC *or* CC.  I carry in Bennigan's and occasionally other bar & grills, but sit at booths, not at the bar, and have never had an issue, nor have I needed permission.

Rather you ask a question before the police come then after, don't be afraid to ask, ever!  From the MOC tri-fold brochure, including legal cite and reference below.  In plain english, you cannot open carry anywhere that is licensed to sell alcohol, even if they don't sell it currently.  Applebee's does indeed serve alcohol, and is licensed to do so, therefore without a CPL you cannot carry there openly.

To clarify the other gentlemen's with a CPL question, you can not Conceal Carry at a bar (50% of income from poured drinks consumed on the premises.)  Applebee's would not fit that description at all, as they are a restaurant and a bar.  Anywhere that is a bar, the only way (I don't recommend it, but some do) you can legally carry in a bar or tavern is to oepnly carry your pistol and possess a valid CPL.

72cinjin and xj bmx, feel free to ask more if that does not clarify your questions and concerns.

Close Northofnowhere.  I changed a few things to get you on the spot (my text in red above)

An example.  Say you went to an establishment famous for their hot wings and waitstaff.  They have a Liquor License for Beer only.  Still licensed but not for hard liquor.  And lets say this location has sales as follows.  Food 35% Beer 36% and Merchandise (tee shirts, calendars and the like) 21%.  The person in this case would only be able to OC with a CPL.  There could be no CC or OC without a CPL.  The majority of the income (not always 50%) was from Alcohol sales for consumption on the premises.  Depending on how the business breaks down its income it could get very dicey CCing anyplace that has Alcohol for consumption on the premises in Michigan.

The statute uses the language "primary" income is from Alch. sold by the glass for on premises consumption, IIRC.

Either way, I think it boils down to asking the management. I don't think that you can find out if the primary source of revenue unless you ask someone anyways.

Steel Magnolia and I regularly OC at Applebys in Gaines Twp. (just south of Grand Rapids) with no issues.
