my latest 1911 grips
« on: April 18, 2010, 05:44:24 AM »
I just got these finished tonight but they won't be ready to go on the gun until tomorrow night.

They're bubinga with a random stippling on part of the grip panel.  They are finished off with 5 coats of tung oil.

These are the first ones I've attempted with any type of carving or texturing.  Checkering is just too much of a PITA to do by hand so I went with the stippling.  If I'm going to do more line work on grips I gotta get better tools  ::)

Anyway, here's the pics.

Thanks for lookin'.

On Target has them in all black, duotone, and all nickel with the duotone being the least expensive.  They also have a 15 shot Plus model and a used Deluxe--which has a blued finish instead of the poly coated black finish and an extended 9 round magazine.

While I like my Bersa quite a bit have her handle and shoot as many different types of guns as possible because she might find a different one that is just perfect for her.
