I do internal software development at my company. Our network admin just emailed the group...

Someone brings their notebook to your office and says:
“So I can’t connect from home and my Internet Explorer stopped working.”
So then you start looking at the notebook and see that IE is running in 6 different instances, but the program itself is not visible anywhere on the computer.  Hmmmm.  Maybe it’s just hung up or something.  So you go to close them in Task Manager and they miraculously all reopen but are still missing from the GUI.
“Weird.  It’s here, and keeps running even though I close it.  I think you might have a bug.”
And here’s the gem:
“Yeah we had something pop up that said we were infected but gave me an option to use my credit card to clean it all off.”

Yeah.  That just happened.

Time to cancel the credit card.
