Teen Killed By Homeowner During Burglary Attempt In Catoosa County
Tuesday, November 12, 2013

A teenager is dead in Catoosa County, after he was shot by a homeowner during a burglary attempt.

According to Sheriff Gary Sisk, the Catoosa County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 2500 block of Post Oak Road, Ringgold, on Monday, at approximately 4 p.m., in reference to a burglary that had occurred, with the homeowner reporting that he had shot an intruder.

As officers were arriving, the 911 center received calls from the suspects requesting medical assistance in the 5100 block of Boynton Drive. Deputies were in the area and got out with the suspects during their call.

Officers found three suspects, one male, 16, one female, 18, identified as Ansley Chrnalogar, and a second male, 17, who had a gunshot wound to his neck.  First aid was provided and emergency services personnel transported the 17-year-old to a local hospital where he later died from his injury.  The other two suspects were taken into custody and both were charged with burglary.

The homeowner stated that he confronted the two male suspects coming out of a room at the back of his residence, at which time they ran toward his direction, and being in fear, the homeowner discharged a firearm toward the suspects.

The homeowner is a 69-year-old man who was home alone at the time of the incident.

All statements that have been taken at this time corroborate the chain of events. The sheriff’s office continues to collect evidence and conduct further investigation into this case.

This story must be a mistake! Only Police & Military should have guns! This person was supposed to crawl to a phone while being beaten to a pulp by 3 teens and waited for the meat wagon to arrive. WTF? Ok...sarcasm off now. Good shooting gramps! The other two punks are lucky to be alive.
"It is now more likely that a person will be the victim of a violent crime than that he will be in an auto accident. Despite this, most people readily believe that the existence of the police relieves them of the responsibility to take full measures to protect themselves."
