Then she creates a straw man that a bad guy with a gun is the same as a bad guy with a shopping cart full of stolen merchandise.  That the Home Depot parking lot shooter did what she's been told to do.  Wow.

"If the cops show up to the scene and the person with the CPL and the bad guy are fighting, how do the police know who's responsible for the crime?"  While that is a remote possibility, the far more likely scenario is that the encounter will be over (relatively) long before the cops show up.  Could it conceivably happen?  Yes.  Is it likely to happen?  No.

Hey, Gene, I've got an amazing and revolutionary idea in law enforcement procedure for you. I realize it's a bit hard to comprehend for a guy who spent his formative years kicking down doors for Tri-County Metro Drug, but try to follow along and I'll try to use words you can understand.
